I`ve a problem when i`m using the stretch commend, for istance to move the position of a wall opening done with a poliline and there`s a door or a window block within the stretch area, this object stays in the original position whereas the lines has already been streched. This makes that I`ve to move manually the block to the new position. Is there any way to stretch objects and blocks together?
Thanks for the reply. I do not use (I`m not familiar with that use) geometric constraints.
I have the block inside the window when trying to make the stretch.
For additional information I use Autocad 2012 for mac ( just in case it cold be a bug for that version reported on this issue)
You can post a sample drawing here showing one or more of your wall where the blocks don't move when included in the window, but if it's a MAC related issue, then you'd be better off posting in the AutoCAD for Mac forum
Hello. I did not payed attention to the distribution when posting this, sorry. Anyway I enclose a sample where the problem occurs. I think I`ll wait for your reply before duplicate my inquiry in the mac forum. Thanks
I beleive the problem is that the insertion points for some of your blocks are very far away from the block geometry, and are not within the selection window.
In AutoCAD for Windows, there are some really easy ways to redefine the block insertion points without moving the block's location in the drawing.... not sure what your options in Mac are other than redefining them manually, which will put all your doors, windows, and tables out in the parking lot.
If you want, I can fix the blocks in this drawing, but you'll probably want to get into the practice of making sure the insertion point of the block(s) are at logical locations, such as the corner of the jamb for a door block.
Edit... Hahaha, Patchy already redefined the insertion points for the doors and windows, so they should work now. (CBIR I assume?) Tables, chairs, columns, etc still have erratic insertion points.
