(softlock license manager) is not functioning or is improperly installed

I just installed autocad and this is what happened on the first boot.  I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled and rebooted and still got this error.  What can I do?

Here is the exact error:  The security system (softlock license manager) is not functioning or is improperly installed

Older software is not supported in WIn10 http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

You might have to buy a fix http://www.longbowsoftware.com

yap, it's work 100000000%. LOL

thank you so much Travis .... He is the man

let me repost.

This is most certainly a file permissions problem.  Make sure you give Everyone full rights to the following folders/files:

On Vista or Windows 7:

C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data

C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data.backup

On Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data.backup

Always install and run your Autodesk products with local Administrator privileges.

Very usefull, another option is windows+r >> msconfig

Click the Windows Start button and in the Run box type "Services."
    Select the "Services" node.
In the services list, locate FlexLM Licensing Service and FlexLM Licensing Service 64 and enable it

Check to ensure the services are not disabled:

  1. Click the Windows Start button and in the Run box type "msconfig"
  2. Select the "Services" node.
  3. In the services list, locate FlexLM Licensing Service and FlexLM Licensing Service 64.
  4. Right-click the entry and click "Properties" or enable it.
  5. Set the "Startup Type" to "Automatic."
  6. Click "Start" to start the service and click "OK."
  7. Start the program to test.
