Serial Number not valid

I'm trying to transfer my ACAD 2012 from an older computer to a new one and the system doesn't recognize my serial number.    This is from a suite I purchased and the serial number is directly from the box.  Any suggestions?

When the product is already updated then a serial for that release is invalid even if you have the box.
