Purging Project wide Utilities

Every time i run a project wide purge all blocks routine in Acad 12, it doesn't purge anything at all.  Only when i go to each individual page and purge all.

I would like to remove any unused blocks/layers......

Is there a fix or a 3rd party app?

When you say "individual page" do you mean each individual tab layout or each individual file?

What is a "project wide purge all blocks routine"?

Is this 3rd party or are you working in a vertical app?

Look into using eTransmit. there's an option in the setttings for that tool to Purge drawings as they are packaged up.

hope you mean Acad 2012, not R12 Smiley Wink

Try the attached lisp. It's not mine but it may be what you are looking for.

Open a drawing. Load the lisp. Type PURGED on command line. It will ask you for a directory. Copy and paste the directory from Windows Explorer. Then it will purge the drawings in that folder.

ETRANSMIT command, add wahtever files you want, then use the Transmittal Setups... button on the right,

either Modify an existing one, or create a new one to modify.  Purge is a check box on the left of that dialog.

I think back in R2010 autocad electrical , i made a change to the "next page drawing" macro... it would pu 5 times and then zoom extent save and then change the page.  But in 2012 i cannot do the purge addition because of a tab box that would appear.  Is there a work around for this?

I use a macro for purging:

c^c^-PU;ALL;;N;Z;E;SAVE;

for blocks only, as you asked:

c^c^-PU;B;;N;Z;E;SAVE;

-PU keeps the dialog box from appearing, as compared with simply PU.
