I just downloaded the windows 8 preview and I’m trying to download AutoCAD 2012 put I keep getting an error during the instillation so it’s not downloading. I’m looking for anything I can do about it or for some suggestions.
Are you having problems "Down Loading it from the Autodesk Site?
Or are you having trouble installing it ?
Either way I don't belive Autocad is supported on Win-8 at this time, so it may not
install, it may need a certain version of .net
So, were I should start... hmmm..., Windows 8 preview is great and really faster ... before (in Windows 7 Professional x64) I was almost 7minutes to open an big 3D file (idw) of Inventor 2012, with windows 8, It takes more and less 3minutes...
So, its good, but, I cant install Autocad 2012, why? great question... the problem is in Framework 4.0... and it seems that gives many problems to many ppl... Everyone knows that Windows 8 preview have Framework 4.5 beta -.-"
I tryed everything, and now, Im just sitting and waiting for the feedback of microsoft, because nothing work!
I simply cant install the autocad 2012... so... Im with the old Autocad 2010 and Inventor 2012 wth Fusion 2012
I had autocad 2011 installed when I upgraded to Windows 8 and it worked great. I did have some issues with a third party program running inside of autocad and they suggested I reinstall Autocad. That was a big mistake. I could not get 2011 or 2012 to install correctly. The 2011 version of AutoCad MEP installs but some of the content is lost. The 2012 version give an installation error. I look forward to it working because it was great on my touch screen laptop. it handled the touch screen stuff way better than than windows 7 and when folded back into a tablet the keypad is docked to the windows bar and more functional than earlier versions. I found it very usable to run AutoCad in tablet mode while walking around the building.
Windows 8 is not yet supported with any Autodesk product and it is probably is the .NET Framework causing the installation issues. You should be able to get around this by running the acad.msi installer. You'll find it in the '/x64/acad' folder.
no man, thats not working
just edit the "setup.ini" file, and delete everything about "NET FRAMEWORK", all versions... then it works...
I just ran across this tonite on the "Without a Net" blog:
