Printing a layout on a printer w/o Autocad installed

Hello everyone:

I'm pretty new to the Autocad scene, so excuse me if I'm asking the obvious.

I currently have a drawing in Autocad 2012 with a large format layout. Unfortunately I do not have a printer to print it out in that size. I found an office in town that can print it for me, but the issue is that they don't have an Autocad installed.

They told me that they can print from a PDF, Word, or an image file.

So my question is, how can I print my layout with them while keeping the right scale of my drawing?

Hi,

you can change to that layout, start command _PLOT, within the plot-dialog change the printer to "DWG to PDF.pc3".

You might be asked if you want to keep the page-format, answer with yes and then start the plot. That creates a PDF in the correct size.

AutoCAD2009 and newer includes a DWG to PDF "virtual printer"

In the PLOT dialog box, scroll down Printer/Plotter list and select DWG to PDF.pc3, select the paper size and set everything else up as if your computer was physically hooked up to a large format printer.

Here's a demo found on youtube.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osvr39_CTbE
