We currently have 4 licences for AutoCAD 2012 and once it was installed it takes a really long time to plot and the hour glass just keeps flipping. What can i do to resolve this problem?

Hi,

Are you using the Plot command or Publish?

Does the Plot dialog show up quickly?

Are you able to plot to PDF or DWF quickly?

Does this help? http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/2005/12/slow_plot_dialo.html

Are your printer drivers updated?

Is it slow to plot all the files or only some in particular? Try a new file with a few lines, do you get the same result?

Cheers,

Luciane

I just bought a brand new computer for work, I installed AutoCAD 2012 and it takes everytime, when using CTRL + P, up to 30 secs to get just to the plot layout. Then, when I changed the setting "what to plot" or "paper size", THAT takes up to 15 secs. FINALLY actually plotting takes up to about 15 secs again. If I plot out a lot of documents it will take me a long time to finish.

However, changing paper size and previewing with other plotters seems to be fast. It is just one plotter...so I am looking into this but would like your advice.

Hi,

The previous suggestions and tests also apply to you.

If this is happening only with one plotter maybe you could reinstall the driver or check if there is a new driver available from the manufacturer.

Cheers,

Luciane
