osnaps at dimension lines & arrows

In previous versions of AutoCAD I've been able to use running osnaps when dimensioning to keep dimension lines lined up.  The intersection onsnap lit up over the intersection of the arrow and the dimension line.  In R2012 the osnap does not light up and I have to place my dimension, then grip the new dim and the existing dimension, make hot grips, then snap them together.  Is there a setting to get the osnap to be recognized on dimensions?

Check the following:

* Type OPTIONS.
* Go to the Drafting tab in the Options dialog box.
* Under AutoSnap Settings, make sure the Marker and Magnet boxs are both selected.

Are you using Mechanical or plain Autocad?

It's Mechanical.  I guess I should post over there.

I did a search over in Mechanical and found the answer.  Under AM preferences there is a filter section for allowing or disallowing osnaps on dimensions.
