Node snap not working for blocks

Node snaps for blocks have mysteriously stoped working. They are working for mtext corner and points. Audit, purge, close & reopen don't resolve the issue.

Is there a setting for this?

This might be it...

From the Help file,
"When the system variable WHIPARC is set to 1, you might find that AutoCAD®
fails to locate object snap points on block insertions. The problem is often
noticed when you cycle through object snaps in a block by pressing the TAB
key."

i don't recall block instances ever having a NODe Osnap, unless a POINT object was part of the block definition.  INSertion yes, along with the other geometric OSnaps...

Problem was between keyboard and chair.
