Hi guys,

I saw this feature in a drawing but can not figure out how:
Within a text box is linked to the file name, if I close and rename, when I open the file name is his name changed into the drawing with DWG extension including. How do I do this?

Hi,

look to the FIELD's-functionality (>>>details<<<), that does this (and other useful) functions like fill in the DWG's filename up to length or area of a polyline, and much more.

Start some text and right click.  Then select "Insert field".  In the field dialog look for filename.  You'll have a number of options on how you want to display it... I like the settings in the attachment.

Including this in a title block as a custom plot stamp is a great idea, and one that has saved me countless hours of wasted time!

Dave.

Thank you for your attention.

The option to "insert field" worked.
Knew it was not hard, I thought that was embedded in the option tag's attributes.

See you soon, pals!
