Is there any way to set Relative coordinates based on the point selected?

Dear All,

Suppose I have drawn a line (AB) say length 100 units.  Now I want to draw a line starting from 20 units (right of) from the middle point of line AB.  If I can set the relative coordinates by any method to the mid point of line AB.  I think this would be easier.

Please suggest and advance thanks for all experts.

One way

Command: l LINE Specify first point: Specify first point:
Specify next point or [Undo]: 100

Specify next point or [Undo]:

Command: l LINE Specify first point: Specify first point: from
Base point: mid

of <Offset>: @20<0

Specify next point or [Undo]:

Specify next point or [Undo]:

Command:

Hope that helps

Henrique

Assuming the default settings for OSnap, OSnap Tracking, and Dynamic Input, it should be as easy as hovering over the midpoint of the line, pulling the mouse to the right, then typing "20"

Dear Nestly2,

Thank you for the illustrated reply.  It is working with my settings.  But I am not able to do Y direction.  The example you have demonstrated in X direction.  Can you please?  Is it possible in both directions?

Are you in Plan view (top view)?

In the animation above, notice the UCS icon,  Does your indicate XY plane, or is it XZ plane (front view)
