How to make the dimension get bigger and smaller as we “scale” the drawing?

How to make the dimension get bigger and smaller as we “scale” the drawing?

For example, the drawing in the screenshot below is scaled by 0.5 but that didn’t affect the “size” of the dimension (height of the text, extension lines, …).

Is there a way to get the dimension line affected as we scale the drawing such that the “dimension text” and the “extension line” are increased/ decreased with the scale factor?

Thank you for the help,

Best

Jamal

Select those dimensions and change the DIm Scale Overall from the Property to 1/2 of what they are.

If you change universally from the dim style settings then you would need to create a new style or your future dims will all become half-size.  What I told you is only to override a certain dims.  Depends on your drawing, if you have a lot of half-sized dims then it may be worth while to create a new dim style.

Yes, you can make the "size" of the dim in the model display differently if (1) you use an annotative dim style, (2) you change the scale setting of the model on the status bar, and (3) you map the scale to the dim.  But remember... this is only going to be this way in the model.  The purpose of annotative dimensions is to keep your text a consistent size in your plots.  So no matter how it looks here things will be the same in your plot as long as you use these scales in the viewport(s).

See the examples below.
