How to convert AutoCAD 3D draws to g-codes??

Hello,

Actually I need a help to convert my 3D AutoCAD draws into g-codes by using a CAM program maybe? The main issue is I bought a CNC machine which is based on Linux EMC2 and I'm not familiar with writing g-codes to run the machine,

the company suggested to use a CAM program to create g-codes after reading my 3D AutoCAD draws..

If it is possible, I need to know what program to use for such purpose and how to get it and use it with integration to Linux EMC2

Thx for concern,

Firas Eid

There are many CAM software packages.

MasterCAM is one.

Download (and pay for) the MasterCAM software from the MasterCAM website.

Install on the Windows PC.

Get training on how to use the MasterCAM software.

Save the resulting g-code file in appropriate format (my guess would be *.txt) to take to the CAM machine.

I've written an AutoCAD DXF to G-Code converter. It's still in beta - 1.0, and I'd like everone's opinion of it.

You draw on the DRILL layer and donuts are plunge drills, circles are circles, lines are cuts, etc.

Its ONLINE so there is no need to install ANYTHING on your system. Simply go to Docs for the instructions and Online Tool

There are sample .DXF and G-Code files you can use and screen snaps from MACH3.

If you have any questions or comments email me on Yahoo at madmark2150@yahoo.com and I'll try to answer ASAP.

The online version has been tested with my old copy of Acad 2000 and works great. It should work on other versions as well.

Any and all feed back welcome - ENJOY!

How would I write inventor rule to output g codes from 3d object like rectangular pipe that needs to be angulary cutted on cnc plasma at the end of the pipe?

Is there any command to project all four faces of pipe to up, down, left and right plane from the code?

Than generate 4 dxf-s from that and than gcodes? Is there any clever way to do it?
