Extruding

Hello all,

For some reason whenever I extrude a shape, it only extrudes into an open object and I would need to it  be closed so I can subtract the shape from a larger mass. For some reason this always happens now and I dont know why its happening, nor how to undo it. All lines are created on the same plane, execpt when I try to PE Edit a spline or curve with another polyline, that doesnt seem to work anymore and it either yet again extrudes into an open object, or not at all. HELP PLEASE! What is the cause of this, and how do I fix it?

THANKS!!!

When you start the Extrude command look at the command line, there should be a MOde option, type MO, enter, pick solid.  Does it work now?

Also, you might try PP (presspull) instead, but don't pick on the edge of the shape, pick in the center somewhere.
