Cad 2010 - 3D
Win XP 32 bit
4 gig ram
I have several drawings with different image types in them. Whenever I try to print DWG to PDF or even Adobe PDF, I get a "Attempting to cancel" message and everything shows up in the PDF except the images.
I can print to a printer just fine.
Sorry if this is a double post, please help me.
I had the same problem in the past. Just try to save the attachments (.jpg) in the same folder with the .dwg file. Then it will be just fine. Weird, isn’t?

I just tried that, it didn't work.
Besides the fact that it didn't work, that's a solution I can't use. The image is an aerial and I use it in many drawings. It's 2Gigs in size. I can't copy 2gigs worth of file all over my computer.
I really hope there's a better solution for this.
we just had that same problem, i found a solution was to export the file as a PDF, (rather than print as a pdf), this worked correctly first time, and also enables you to switch layers on and off in the PDF file (which was a novelty to me)
hope this is of some help,
Thanks for your reply. How do you Export to PDF? I couldn't find any option within the Export menu that said anything about PDFs. I'm using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 Imperial.
i'm using Autocad 2010, so it may be different, i either go through the main menu, clicking on the big red "A" in the top left corner, then export is the 5th button down, and that brings out a pop out menu which has pdf as an option. i have also found that the command is "exportpdf" which brings up a standard window with various options.
If your aerial is 2 Gb, I'ld guess it's a TIF format. You may want to consider converting it to a more 'size-friendly' format. Generally I find that converting to a ,png works out best for plotting. And png is a lossless compression method, unlike jpeg or jpeg2K which loses data in the conversion.
Or, look into using Map3D and attach the image as a datasource rather than inserting it.
the exportpdf might work - I'm in between meetings today so I won't get a chance to try it tell tomorrow - I'm working with *.ECW images. jpegs & tiffs work
I put a drawing from model space into paper space. I followed the procedure for exporting a DWG to PDF but my drawing does not show up. I am fairly new to AutoCad. Maybe I'm doing something wrong when converting from model to paper space?
EXPORTPDF did not work.
I changed system variables RASTERPERCENT & RASTERTHRESHOLD TO 90 & 100 respectively. Did not work.
I am working with large ECW and SID images. They print to my physical printers just fine, just not to PDF.
When using Adobe PDF.pc3, half way through the print process the print window says "attempting to cancel", the final product is a PDF with limited linework.
When using DWG to PDF.pc3 I get all the linework of the drawing, no image.
