DIST rubberband color black

I'm hoping this isn't antics of my co-workers, but the dynamic rubberband line that indicates position during the Distance command is color Black on my computer. It shows fine during Line Command or even Dimensioning, but with the Distance command I can tell it's there as I slide over other vectors, but I can find no means of controlling its color. Any help?

What color is your LAYER 0? It seems to display that layer's color here.

Layer 0 is white. It was frozen because somebody landed an Xref on it. I moved the Xref to another layer so I could Thaw Layer 0 and now my rubberband is back for the Distance command. I've always preached that Layer 0 is the "magic" layer and it shuold never be frozen and nothing should be placed on it. I guess I'll have to start evangelizing again. Thanx for triggering the synapses.

That's a good rule to have.
