Dim with formula

Hi all,
Is ther a way to use a formula in a dim? I'll explain what I whould like to obtain...

I have a dim which measures 100, but I'll like to have as value 1200 (dim value + 1100) with out manual writing it. So if I would strech it other 5 it's value should become 1205 and not 105.

I thought of using fields but I cannot use in the dim's text the same dim's length.

Hope that I am clear. And that someone can help me.

Maybe in this case a 'why' you are trying to do that rather then 'what' will be more helpful. Overriding dimension values is frowned upon, perhaps a drafting practice change will be easier to implement.

The idea is that my building is 1200m from a certen point, but in the drawing I cannot show all 1200m, and I don't want to manual modify the dim's text. ( I am a dynamic lover!! ).

At the end it is just a "proof of concept" that can be handy in the future.

I think this is the resolution most would take. Some would put the dimension in paper space.
