Hi all!
I tried to make a customized linestyle to show a broken white pavement marking.
*BROKEN-WHITE,BW __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ _
A,.4,-1.2
When I use it, however, it seems to add on an "extra dash" at the ends - which is quite annoying. I'm following the same format as the HIDDEN or DASHED lines, I've just modified the lengths of the dashes and gaps. The picture attached shows it a little more clearly. I want it to be constistant through out regardless of whether I use the LINE command or the POLYLINE command...
Thanks!!!!
Christina

AutoCAD linetypes will always start and end with a dash, and will almost always include some extra dash length on the ends in order to maintain the dash and space length defined in the linetype definition.
In other words, if your linetype definition says to draw a 1 unit dash and a 1 unit space, and your total length of the line is 7-1/2 units long, what would you want it to do with the extra 1/2 unit of line?
This is documented here, under "Alignment Field"
http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2014/ENU/files/GUID-EF1DF0A9-2088-487C-8085-16FEE6425405.htm
You might be able to do what you want with this 3rd party tool: http://www.autodsys.com/autoline.html
Thank you for sharing about the A alignment. That is quite an unfortunate feature... but that documentation was helpful!
This is what I ended up doing to "fix" the "issue"
*bw-test,BW-test __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ _
A,.4,-1.2,.2
I added half the dash at the end of the line... and it seems to work so far...
Thank you for your help!
