Convert AutoCAD 2010 to AutoCAD 2009 Files

Please help. I am a college student and the version of AutoCAD that my school runs is 2009. However I downloaded the 2010 version on my computer. I cannot work on my projects at school anymore because I saved them once on my personal computer. Is there anyway to convert the files back to 2009 version so that I can work on them at school? Thank you so much

Use SAVEAS and choose the A2009 format. You can make A2010 default to
saving in the earlier version format if you wish - Options - Open & Save.

Autodeks has a free program that'll let you convert dwg formats. Here's the
link where you can download and install the free utility from Autodesk. You
just have to fill in your contact info and then you can download and
install. The free conversion process is embedded into their Dwg Trueview
2010 program which also let's you view & print AutoCAD dwgs.

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112

Once you've installed Dwg TrueView 2010, launch it, then click on the upper
left corner icon, select File, then you can access DWG Convert. When DWG
Convert launches, click on Conversion Setups, Modify, then select under File
Format: the version you would like to convert the dwg format to. After you
click OK & Close, back in the original DWG Convert window, click at the
bottom Add file icon to select a list of dwgs to convert.

Enjoy.

Actually, choose the 2007 format. You won't find 2009 in the list.

Also, under Options -> "Open and Save" tab you can configure your R2010 to always saveas R2007 (or anything down to R14)

I have similar problem... I installed the Autocad DWG TRUEVIEW 2009 recently but when I add file to the tree, it was unable to read.

Hi,

DWG TrueView 2009 will not be able to read drawings from 2010-2012 (uses format DWG-2010) ... why didn't you install the current version of DWG TrueView ==> 2012?
