Certain operations cause 70-second delay

We're using AutoCAD 2012. My installation was working fine until a week or so ago. The only change was that I installed Autodesk Screencast, and then noticed that when trying to use my computer remotely via Citrix, it would crash. So our IT guys installed a newer video driver (NVIDIA Quadro 600) and reinstalled the Citrix client, which appears to have solved that problem, but now certain operations cause AutoCAD to hang for about 70 seconds, during which time Task Manager shows no change in AutoCAD's memory usage and says it's "Not Responding."

The problem operations are mostly associated with hatches. They include:

- Changing from a predefined to a "User" hatch on the hatch ribbon;

- Typing "hatch" at the Command: prompt (but typing "-Hatch" causes no delay);

- Selecting a hatch object with the cursor;

- Opening and closing a file that has hatches;

- Picking a point within an area to be hatched and letting the HATCH command find the boundary (whereas selecting a boundary with the "s" option causes no delay).

Certain other operations cause no delay at all, including:

- Finding a boundary with the BOUNDARY command;

- Using a predefined hatch pattern from the ribbon interface;

- Selecting an associative hatch's boundary polyline and editing the grips.

I've read other posts and tried various solutions like turning off HPQUICKPREVIEW, turning off hardware acceleration, etc., and these have no effect at all. Something else is wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Michael Evans

You could install ProcessMonitor from Microsoft on the CAD station, and see if that will help isolate the issue(s)
