Can you duplicate my layer glitch?

In a drawing in 2011, with various objects & layers.

Turn off a few layers.

Select a visable object, then Esc off to deselect.

Select a second object, and go to your layer toolbar.

Scroll to an off layer, turn it on, and select the layer to place your current object on that layer.

What happened?

For me, the second object I selected is forgotton, and the first object is placed on the selected layer.

Let me know.

I can't repeat here: using the ribbon pulldown or the classic Layer pulldown.

R2011/Win7 64bit.

Thanks.

I'm on 32 bit, but the bigger difference is probably that I'm in C3D.  Another user in the office here got the same result as me, both of us using the classic layer toolbar.

I asked the question in this forum to see if it was a C3D thing or also in plain AutoCAD.  Anyone else willing to concur with Dean on this?
