AutoCAD freezes

I am running AutoCAD Map 3D on my laptop for general work at home. My mahine is a Lenova W500 with 8Gb memory and the graphics card is an ATI FireGL V5700, Iwas running on Windows XP 32 bit operating sytem and everything was running relatively fine. Recently I moved on to Windows 7 64 bit and re installed the program using the 64 bit disc. I then found that while working in my files the cross hairs would freeze for no apparent reason but and would appear to be locked, though if I moved pointer in to the menu bar area I could actually save the document and then close file. The task manager never gave message that the progrom was not responding.

Has anybody heard of or had this proble

For testing purpose, can you try to kill "WSCommCntr2.exe" at your Processes?

Also a consideration, the lenovo laptops scoll bar has a setting that may cause it to lock up for you.

The default setting for the TrackPad middle button is 'scroll - Standard'. in the UltraNav driver that comes with thinkpad, there is an option to change the button to do 'Scroll-smooth'. By doing this, the middle button works like a mouse button middle button and with trackpoint, users can pan just like mouse middle button.

You should also ensure to use the latest UltraNav software. Bing 'Ultranav Download' and it should go to Lenovo Ultranav software download.
