AutoCAD crashing after plotting

My company just got new computers, I've loaded 2012 SP1 and our lisp comands on every machine.  After a plot, when someone goes to save and close the drawing, AutoCAD crashes.  It does not matter which plot device is used, the result is the same.  This includes the plot devices included in AutoCAD.  I have reinstalled autocad on one machine, no lisp commands, same result.  I have already tried some of the fixes proposed in other threads, nothing has helped.

System:

Win7 64 bit

i7 930

6Gb RAM

Radeon HD 6450

Hi,

If AutoCAD is crasing after plotting a new file with only a few lines then check if the same happens in Windows diagnostic mode, maybe you have an application or driver that is causing the conflict:

Start AutoCAD in diagnostic mode:

I have had the exact same problem ever since upgrading to AutoCAD 2011. I am now on AutoCAD 2012 with a brand new computer and I still have the exact same problem. The only thing I can imagine is that AutoCAD has a bug that conflicts with something in my existing drawings files. Has anyone figured out this issue?

...or conflicts with your printer-driver! Have you checked if the problem also appears when plotting to DWF or using the "DWG to PDF.pc3"?

Yes, I have tried to print to PDF as well as a local printer with the same results. Interestingly though all of the other similar complaints I have found online involved a HP Designjet 500 like mine. Any thoughts?

Yes, do a check with the others what plotter-driver version you are all using. It may be worth to check that, real good point!

(anyway I don't have a HP-DJ500 and I don't have the problem).

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

We have three machines doing the same thing - you send a plot, close, when the option asks to 'save' - it crashes with a light colored screen that only explains that it (AutoCAD) has stopped working. All drawings open are closed in one big swoop.

Win7 64 bit

Xeon E3 1235

8 Gb RAM

Hi,

Just for test, switch of the sysvar BACKGROUNDPLOT/set it to 0 for a while (>>>details<<<) and let us know if that reduces the number of crashes.

Hi,

Did you install the service pack 1 and the ribbon hotfix?

Does it make any difference if you uninstall the ribbon hotfix in case it was installed before?

Also, does it make any difference if you use a basic theme in Windows 7 instead of Aero?

Does it happen with any file, including a new file created from scratch with just a few lines?

Are you requested to send an error report to Autodesk? Do you mind informing the email address informed in the report?

You can sent it to me via email if you don't want to make it public.

Cheers,

Luciane
