Note : it also some time crashes when iam working and gives the same error
I installed autocad service pack 1 it also didn't work ,, so i need help please

Hi,

I was getting the same error with my AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 x64 on Windows 8 Consumer Preview x64. The solution is:

1. open Notepad as Administrator (important!)

2. open the file: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2012\acad.exe.config" (you will have to select "All files" from the open dialog box to see that file)

3. in the 3rd line - "<startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">" change "true" to "false". leave everything else as it is.

4. save the file.

5. Start AutoCAD 2012.

NOTE: the above steps helped me for AutoCAD Mechanical 2012. if this doesn't help or if some other error occurs then just revert that "false" to "true".

Hope this helps.

One: Windows 8 CONSUMER PREVIEW.  In other words, its not released yet, let alone supported by anyone, including Microsoft.

Two: 4 GB RAM is less than ideal for running just 64-bit Windows, let alone a RAM-hungry design application like AutoCAD.
