I'm still having problems.
Actually today I finally took it up with our support provider so I've been trying to troubleshoot it with him today.
We're leaning towards the McFee software that works directly with our Firewall Hardware. We're trying to elimnate the less invasive programs first though.
I use Avira Anti-virus. Have tried others as well as disabling it all together with no effect. I have disabled Windows Firewall and any other program that could conflict and no solution yet.
I have tried brand new installs, different operating environments and it's something to do with communicating between Autocad and Windows 7. XP shows none of these problems, yet I prefer Windows 7 for many other reasons.
Not related to Sophos
Not related to Avira
Not related to Norton (just in some cases, already patched)
Maybe not related to Avast
Not related to graphic cards (mayby in some cases)
No hotfix to solve the issue.
This issue is related from Autocad 2009 to 2012
AND IT'S NOT SOLVED.
We have the same issue here. I have two machines connected to the our network. One is XP / AutoCAD 2007 and the other is Windows 7 / AutoCAD 2011. The XP / 2007 machine opens and closes drawings at least an order of magnitude (probably two orders of magnitude) faster than the Win7 / 2011 machine. This speed difference is observed irrespective of whether the file being accessed is on the network or the local hard drive.
I'm not experiencing file-access speed issues with any other programs. It's only AutoCAD 2011 that opens, closes, recovers, and audits files exasperatingly slow.
Has anyone figured this out?
