Autocad 2011 3d modeling crashes on Macbook Pro

Autocad 2011 3d modeling crashes on Macbook Pro

student copy

processor is Intel Core i5 -- 2.5 Ghz

graphics: Intel HD graphics 4000 (1024 Mb)

Is the dual-core necessary for 3d modelling?

Thanks

I hope this will be the only issue so that I can contribute some positive input on this forum

Hi,

>> Autocad 2011 3d modeling crashes on Macbook Pro

The next time your AutoCAD crashes make a screenshot so we can see the message that appears.

At least the Intel HD 4000 is not a graphics card that is built for CAD, so I guess it's not the processor, the bottle neck is more the graphicscard.

That's my opinion for AutoCAD on Windows, but as you are running on a Mac ... you might get better feedback on the forum >>>AutoCAD on Mac<<<

Good luck, - alfred -

Thank you alfred,

the program just closes by itself, there is no error message besides something along the lines of: would you like to send an error report? describe it in the box.

I have a feeling its the graphics card as well. is there a way to tone down the resolution within autocad?

Hi,

>> is there a way to tone down the resolution within autocad?

Not the resolution, but you might try to disable the hardware acceleration (command _3DCONFIG ==> manual tune) ... but I have no idea if that command is working on a Mac version of AutoCAD.
