I had to reload Windows 7 (64bit) on my PC workstation due to a system problem.
When I reinstalled AutoCAD LT 2012 and try to activate, I get an error message that says: "The serial number you entered is not valid. Try again.".
It lists the correct product key and the original request code.
The serial# shown in the activation window matches my CD rom, so not sure why it won't work.
This is the same ACAD software installed on the same workstation previously, so it's not a transfer to a new machine or user.
Also, I tried to inquire about this through the Autodesk knowledge section. It won't let me send an inquiry since I can't find anything that works in the product code field. What do I need to enter in this field to get it to go through?
Any direction would be appreciated.
Hi @dvx01 and welcome to the Autodesk Community!
Typically when someone receives an invalid serial number error the license has either been upgraded and is no longer on Subscription or the license has been returned. To have your serial number verified please contact our Activation and Registration department directly:
1. Visit http://knowledge.autodesk.com/contactus
2. Select “Activation & Registration” or “License Management”
3. Select appropriate subtopics from the pull-down menus
4. Select “I Still Need Help” if you need personal assistance
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions in the meantime please be sure to let us know. Thank you!
