Write protected? Open My Computer, file the folder where your drawings
are, pick each of them and then at the upper left of your dialog box,
pick File>Properties and uncheck Read only. If, however, these are files
that were copied from a CD, then be aware that they will always be write
protected UNTIL you uncheck the Read only box.

Are you by any chance using an Adaptec Snap Server as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device?

Is the file being set to "READ ONLY" only, or are the "SYSTEM" and "HIDDEN" attributes being set as well?

You can check by opening a "CMD" window to DOS, changing to the problem directory, and issuing the ATTRIB command. You will see the file names with the combination of A S H R next to them. The Attributes can be cleared with the following:

"attrib -s -h -r *.dwg"

AutoCAD 2007, and 2008 have caused every drawing opened to be set S H R. The setup was fine with ADT 3.3 and ADT 2005. Neither AutoCAD nor Adaptec want to take credit.

I forgot to ask, have you found a solution to the problem?
