text editing problem

Have a drawing dviewed 90°. When editing horizontal text the cursor and editing box stay horizontal, the text rotates 90° to vertical. This makes it very difficult to keep track of what exactly you are editing. Worked fine in '08.

mtexted=internal
mtextfixed=0,1 or 2 no difference, rebooted each time settings were changed.

Can anyone confirm? Is there a variable I am missing?

Back to 08 in the meantime.

Thanks,

correction, this is text, not mtext.

dtexted set to 0 or 2 displays problem, 1 does not(separate dialog box)

Opened drawing in 08 and same problem. Opened original drawing from consultant, checked, no problem. Copied original and opened with 09, no problem. So it is not 08 or 09 but a changed setting in the last month since the drawing was last opened.

Can use the texted=1 dialog in the mean time but am used to the other editing box now.

Open for suggestions....

If I understand, your text is rotated 90 deg. Pick it and rotate -90.

Thanks for responding Gehenna, but you misunderstood. While editing the dview twisted drawing with horizontal text, the edit box goes blank with a flashing cursor as soon as anything is typed into the edit box and the text rotates 90° to vertical but the edit box and cursor does not.

Clear as mud? Attached is a pic. Note the edit box is empty, wasn't quick enough to catch the flashing cursor. As soon as the lower case g was inserted the text rotated down. The cursor and edit box stayed where the text was.
