.STB NOT .CTB NEED TO PLOT BLACK AND WHITE

Without using CONVERTPSTYLES, I need to plot dwg but won't change from "normal" to "black" in the .stb properties when I go to print.  I have my .stb chosen.  It seems that .stb is like changing a text style.  For example.  I type STYLE and I can choose Normal, or another stext style I created and "Set Current" to change the text style.  When im on the Plot Menu and I select my .STB file on the top right, i select the edit box next to it.  on the pop up screen I select the Form View tab and it shows all the plot styles.  Normal seems to be selected some how, but there isnt a "Set Current" if I wanted to select a different style.

I am trying to use someone elses .stb because I will be sending the dwg back to him.  So I am just keeping things consistant.  I just want to be able to his .stb file and print in black and white, but it is showing color.  thanks for the help

Ok figured it out.

- Right click on paper space tab and select Page Set Up Manager

- Modify your paperspace

- Make sure the plot style is in .STB form, if not Use CONVERTPSTYLES to change it from color dependent to style dependent

- Select all lines to change all to one plot style, or just the lines you want to change.

- Type PLOTSTYLE and choose the style you want.

That is all, I am almost positive I typed PLOTSTYLE before I did the Page Set Up Manager steps and the command would be unknown.  So the key is to make sure your Paper space is set up for .STB files in the Page Set Up Manager.  This way PLOTSTYLE would work

One other easy solution to fix this issue is to open the Plot Style Table Editor, select the Table View tab, and in the first column titled "Normal", change the setting for Color (third row down) from "Use object color" to "Black". You will then be able to use the client's .stb file and your plot will in black and white.

I was trying to use this easy fix, but the normal option is locked to edit.

I couldn't follow these steps

- Select all lines to change all to one plot style, or just the lines you want to change.

- Type PLOTSTYLE and choose the style you want.

in the attached file? or in the layout file?

@ lucilia,

Checking in on this thread and your post, I'm a little confused by your post.

Do you need help with a similar issue as the OP? Or are you trying to help them?

Post back with any updates.

Thanks.

Yes, I was having the same problem to print .stb plot style table black and white. I figured out, I have to select all Layers and  then change the appropriate plot style.

Thanks for clarifying, would you mind sharing a sample file?

Is this happening for only one drawing file?
