Open drawing with xrefs unloaded

Is it possible to open drawings with the xrefs unloaded?

I need to quickly edit 20-30 drawings and don't like waiting for the xrefs to load. I realize I can unload the xrefs after the drawing is opened, but this doesn't help the files open any faster.

Thanks.

If the xrefs are on a network drive, just copy the
dwg file containing the xrefs over to your local drive, temporarily disconnect
the network drive, open the dwg and edit.

Since there's no network drive mapped, it won't
find the xrefs and the dwg file would load very quickly.

When done, remap the network drive and move the
drawing back to the original location.

Use Partial Open. There's a check box to unload all xrefs.

Thanks. Any ideas why the command 'PARTIALOPEN' is not recognized? 'PARTIALOAD' is recognized.

I copied it straight from the help to make sure I wasn't spelling it wrong.

nevermind, -partialopen works and that is what I need. Edited by: aielli on May 11, 2009 7:26 PM
