One of my coworkers keeps getting the following error when saving (or autosaving) a particular file SOME of the time:
"One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created."
Usually it saves the file even when it gives this error, but sometimes it doesn't. And when the error occurs the option to save in other formats is no longer present, effectively leaving us with no way to save the drawing. The drawing was last edited in 2008 and may have been created with 2007, all of which use the same drawing format. I have tried using AUDIT, RECOVER, and PURGE on the drawing, but no errors or problems were found and the problem still persists.
Unfortunately I can't upload the drawing due to our company's policy on sending out copyrighted material, but maybe someone else has seen this sort of thing and knows a solution? Thanks!
I haven't heard anything more on this; the problem either went away after restarting the computer or the coworker hasn't needed to work on that drawing anymore. We've found no solution, though.
My guess is that it is drawing-related, as no one else has seen this come up since using AutoCAD 2009. You might try creating a new drawing in 2009 and then copy and paste from the corrupted drawing into that. It will either fix the problem or copy the problem with it -- I don't know which. It'd probably be worth a try, though.
You don't happen to have Raster Design do you? A couple of us here have run into it, and it seems to get triggered when the image ribbon is loaded. It's a little inconsistant because my coworker had to use menuload to unload Raster while I just stay away from the image ribbon.
It appears. as often is the case, I caused my own problems. My problem was outside the software. I was out of room in the location where I was trying to save the drawings. I imagine you all would know if that was your problem. Good luck with a solution.

Anyone else come across this issue and know what caused it? I have a user that it is happening too right now. No raster design and plenty of disk space.
Running ACAD 2009 - probably not the service pack (don't know for sure though).
Here is one, when I opened it, it was saved in 04 format. Don't know why. I know there is a lot of crud that can be purged from it. I had told her to do an audit and purge on the file. She said she was just going to work in 07 for the remainder of this project because it was started in 07 and she tried to work with it in 09. I have noticed some pretty funky things happening when opening 07 release shop drawings.
