Lines become "fat" onscreen

Hi,

I'm running Autocad 2008 on an Intel Pentium 4 in Windows XP. I've been having this problem, well it's not impossible to work around, but it's annoying. In layout space, my lines have become "fat." I had this happen before when I'd been running the computer for a long time, but then it would go back to normal, if I used either REGEN or changed the LTSCALE. Now it won't go back to normal. It's plotting normally, but it makes it difficult to see the drawing on the computer.

Any ideas?

down on the bottom with the SNAP, GRID, ORTHO, etc toggle, click the one
that says LWT

This is the same as the LWDISPLAY system variable...
