layers locked ?

i hate to say this, but if you are executing the command properly and it fails, you are probably
looking at a repair install.

I guess it is our custom menu. I can do a repair from the CD and in the initial startup the command will work. It will also work in the session I load my custom menu, however as soon as I close down and start backup the command no longer works.

I'm digging through our mnl file trying to find the problem, does anyone have some ideas or things to look for?

sounds like the custom menu is loading an old laymrg.lsp (or some such) that no longer works in
2008. 2008 has its own core command version now.

track that badboy down and whack it.

Can someone test this for me? Please open up the template file I'm attaching and add two layers. Then use the Laymrg command and see if they will merge.

I have the layer (G-ANNO-NPLT) in our template drawing and the command will not work unless you unlock it? This applies to all drawings that are created from this template. If I unlock G-ANNO-NPLT, but still have any other layer locked the command will work.

i haven't tested to see if this only happens in templates, or just your template, or just that
particular layer configuration.

works in my *drawings*, i lock layers often without any laymrg problems.
