Intersection line between 2 planes

Hi, 

 

I need to find the intersection line between 2 planes in 3D, 

the planes themselves are not co-planar in anyway, at best they are perpendicular to each other 

 

I know this is a simple mathematical or discribtive geometry problem, but I havn't found the right tools to do so 

under AutoCad 2007 

 

 

The attached image is of a simple sketch of the problem, but if it can be solved then the original problem would be solved

Hi,

 

make extruded solids of each of these two rectangles, then use boolean function "intersect". That gives you the ability to use osnap then for one of the resulting 4 edges (well, you just have to take care which of the edges is the right one).

I'm aware of that solution, but I have to do this about 50 times, 

and the distances are tiny so all maniulations are tricky at best

 

I'm looking for an automated process or a function so that the results won't be as sensitive to the manual procedure envolving extruding and intersecting solids

Autodesk Inventor has a tool to do this and is fully parametric.
