FLEXnet License issue

We run AutoCAD 2009 with a server license on windows XP. We constantly have the same message come up:

Your application was not able to obtain a license because the FLEXnet license server manager could not determine where to find the licensing data it needs. Please choose one of te following:
- Specify the licensing server system
- Spcify the license file

We can do both of the options and tell the thing where to go but the setting will not stay and we have to do it everyday and it does not work everytime. Sometimes we must try 5-6 times.

We never had this problem on previous versions.

Is there a solution?

This is to do with a timeout issue.

Go to My Computer, right click and Select "properties". Select the advanced tab and then click on the "Environment Variables" button

A dialog box appears, at the bottom window entitled "system variables", you will need to add a new variable called

FLEXLM_TIMEOUT.

Do this by clicking the new button at the bottom of the window and adding the above mentioned variable, and set the value for this to 10000000.

once you have then added this, the problem should clear.

This stopped the message box from popping up right away, but now just getting a spinning mouse pointer.  Is it possible I am not finding the lic server?
