Easiest way to toggle layers on/off based on input

We need to do drawings of our tables but we can have many varied options. We keep the options on seperate layers to be turned on/off but we have to do this manually. Is there a way to key in certain information (AutoLisp?) and the appropiate layers will turn on/off? Thanks.

Not only that but you can apply different layer states to viewports, and work on your model(s) through them, meaning you can leave all layers on in modelspace, but see the different setups in paperspace. In my case for example, I can work on wall layout, reflected ceiling, flooring layout, and furnishings at same time in one layout tab in paperspace, but through 4 different viewports, without having to switch layer states...
I hope my info was useful, but if by some odd chance it actually solved your issue, feel free to mark your post as "Accept as Solution". Thanks! :smileyhappy:
