Disappearing paper/model space button

A coworker and I have been having issues with the paper/model space button on the taskbar periodically disapperaring for no apparent reason. You can then go into the taskbar settings and turn it back on, but eventually it disappears again. My coworker mentioned that his has disappeared 3 times today and he hasn't changed profiles or workspaces or anything that might affect it.
Has anyone else had this problem and do you know what might cause it to randomly turn off? We are wondering if there is some sort of button combination that turns it off that we are accidently hitting or something along those lines.

Search the forums here; it's been brought up before and it appears to be a known "bug" in at least 2008. I have not used 2009 on my secondary computer long enough to determine if it'll pop up there too.

This is a known bug. It is caused by the block editor. There is no fix available, you just have to keep turning it back on (or learn to get by without it)

AutoCAD has so many little bugs like this that never get fixed. Its like they had one prodigal programmer who designed all this stuff then quit and no one has any idea how to fix anything, so they just keep adding new stuff on top of the broken stuff.

That was the same person who could spell and had
reasonable grammer skills.  But, that was also back when it used to
matter.

I've added the following to my S::smileyfrustrated:TARTUP and it keeps the button on.

(setq regProfRoot (strcat "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\" (vlax-Product-Key) "file://profiles//" (getvar "CProfile")))
(setq RegNow (strcat regProfRoot "file://statusbar//Application"))
(vl-registry-write RegNow "Paper/ModelPane" 1);turn on the model/paper status bar
