Customization File Load Error

When I start my AutoCad I get the error:

Customization file load failed. File not found: C\Documents and Settings\ arrudan1\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\ACAD-5001-409\PDFIC.cui

After this error AutoCAD starts but there are no toolbars except the Acrobat one.

I went to my school's tech center, my computer is school issued and AutoCad is licensed to the school, they reinstalled the program and it started fine there. But when I started it the next time the same error came up. Does anyone know what I can do?

The second line of your post tells you the problem: C\Documents and
Settings\ arrudan1\Application
Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\ACAD-5001-409\PDFIC.cui

I believe this means the PDFIC.cui is located in a location other than
were it should be and autocad can't find it because this location is not
in your search file path. Add the location to your search file.

I searched for PDFIC.cui on my hard drive and nothing came up. I looked at the directory the error came from and there was no ACAD-5001-409 folder, I searched for that folder and it came up under the location C\Documents and Settings\arrudan1\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0.

The folder will not open though, an error message saying "C\Documents and Settings\ arrudan1\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\ACAD-5001-409\ refers to a location that is unavailable"

You will need the pdfic.cui from your school and put it in your Support
folder. Otherwise, it will have to be burried deep in Document and
Settings\etc\etc\etc . . . . Totally worthless to go through. Just put
it in the Support folder and you should be alright.

The installation was a repair install done over the network by the people at the tech center, should i ask them to just uninstall then reinstall the program?

I don't think that would work any better. I don't understand the cui -
it should be acad.cui, however, it appears to be applicable to your tech
center. You just need that cui copied to a flash drive and then copied
to the Support folder in autocad. While having the cui in the support
folder is not where autocad normally puts it during installation,
nothing wrong; I have mine there and whenever I need to load it via
menuload, that's where I browse for it and my system has been working
well since I got it in May.

I searched for acad.cui and found several, one for each of the Autodesk programs on my computer. I also searched on another student's computer for the PDFIC.cui file and nothing came up, the ACAD-5001-409 folder appeared in search the same way as it did for me. could this be a problem with adobe acrobat?

Possible. I would delete the entire folder, i.e., in C\Documents and
Settings\ arrudan1\Application
Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\ACAD-5001-409\PDFIC.cui. Go to My Computer, then
Document and Settings and delete arrudan1\application, etc. (what a
mess). Be careful: notice there is a SPACE immediately before arrudan1.
I don't understand how Adobe Acrobat could be causing this, but I would
start by deleting as noted above and getting autocad running correctly.
Then, you may have to re-install Acrobat (why have it in autocad?).

I deleted the folder and re-installed Acrobat, with no change. Any other ideas before I think going to the tech center and let them have at my computer?

The weirdest part about this problem is that i can still use all the auto cad commands, I can even open the User Customization Interface where i can access the cui files, can i do anything in here?
