Converting .PLT files to .PDF format

Is there a way to take existing .plt files and convert them into .pdf, .eps, .dwf's, .tif, .gif, or any other format.

I have hundreds of existing .plt files that need to be converted over so that the print shop can read them. Our print driver is incompatible to what they are using.

Even if I have to download an outside program that will be o.k.

yeah i tried that glenn and can only find free converters that will convert one at a time or (5) at a time.

I really need to narrow my search to something that can convert all hundred at once if possible.

ah, I see - that is probably going to be a tough one. Good luck.

What you did not mention is what file format these ".PLT files" are; ".PLT"
is not a file format; it's only a filename extension. But, as these are
archived files, the format that was chosen is probably a common format like
HPGL(2), in which case I don't see why a decent plotservice would not be
able to plot them directly.

With any conversion there is a risk that you loose information or quality;
having said that, ViewCompanion (http://www.softwarecompanions.com) can
convert HPGL(2) files to the other formats that you mentioned..

I use a program called equivaQ 2002 to convert .plt files to .pdf.  They have a batch export function... which is very helpful.

You need a program that can read your PLT files (no matter what the actual file format is), and a program that can print to PDF.

We do it here all the time using Oce Repro Desk to read the PLT files and CutePDF to write the PDF files.
