I have a problem with exploding blocks. So fare I haven't been able to
determined why or what I have done. It seems to happen randomly.
I have tried to explode the attached file on 3 different computers but all I
get is "This block can't be exploded"

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

You can turn off exploding since R2006: it's in the block definition
pop-up. You can use the same method to turn it on too. Could this be
your problem?

I am obviously missing something here.
I honestly can't remember if "Allow exploding" were ticked or not. I didn't
change it and it seems like it is ticked by default which which makes me
think it might have been ticked.
How do you change "Allow exploding" on a block as it doesn't appear under
properties??
Chas,
Did you just hit explode and it worked??

Thanks
Jonas

It doesn't appear under Properties unfortunately, you do so
during the definition/creation process, or redefine it again
in BLOCK command.

In the Properties palette, under Block, click Allow Exploding.
On the drop-down list, select Yes or No.
On the Block Editor toolbar, click Save Block Definition.

checked ot not.

Thanks Again

It seems like 2 Autocad in our office has "Allow Explode" unchecked by
default. I have been trying to find the system variable that would change it
but without any success.
If anyone know please let me know.

Cheers

Isn't that the point of Blocks? I have warning messages about NEVER exploding a block and ALL of our blocks are set Not to be exploded for good measure. If you need to modify one- use the edit block in place or Block editor.
