3D design, mating cube to connector

Hi!

I have solidworks background but don't have the software availble at the moment. I need to create a cube showing a connector on the outside panel. Simple design right?! I have the connector in dwg format, and I can create a cube! Now I just need to mate the connector to the side of the cube. How can I do this in autoCAD? I am using autoCAD 2008.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Try UNION command

I think you might try the align or 3Dalign (or is it align3D?) commands.

Move might be another option.

There are no assembly constraints in AutoCAD.

That looks usful. First I need to align it though. I been playing around with the align feature but haven't got it to align yet. The connector I am inserting either as a block or DWG reference in to my cube drawing. I'm trying to grab the plane on the connector that mates with the cube panel side, align those places. I'm not able to grab it though!...

Can you attach your drawings?
