Hello,
I currently have a client that had Autodesk AutoCAD installed and running perfectly. It has suddently stopped working and now does not launch.
Error in Event Viewer when trying to launch is as follows;
Faulting application name: acad.exe, version: 23.0.54.0, time stamp: 0x440acd95
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc000041d
Warning Prior to error is;
The application (AutoCAD 2007, from vendor Autodesk, Inc.) has the following problem: AutoCAD 2007 has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows. For an update that is compatible with this version of Windows, contact Autodesk, Inc..
We have tried the following steps to resolve but have not been successful;
Removing completely with Revo Uninstaller - Reinstalling AutoCAD
Updating to AutoCAD SP2
Updating chipset drivers
Updating Graphics card drivers.
The computer is an 'Acer Aspire X3960' desktop. With Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed. Intel HD 2000 Graphics.
Unable to do a system restore.
Would appreciate any help or advice in sorting this error out 🙂 Thank you !
Hi,
if you create a new user to your Windows, full (local) admin permissions, UAC off, antivirus off, does AutoCAD start within that user context?

And try running in XP Compatability mode since 2007 products do not support Win 7 and moreover 64 bit software.
Double whammy.

I have the same problem (error details below). I'm also running 7 (Ultimate). I had to create a new user per an unrelated IT problem, and it won't work with the new user. I tried copying everything from AppData and still no-go. It still works on the other user profile though. It should be just a licencing problem or a registry value pointed somewhere wrong. I just need to know what! Thanks

Well, posted that 5 minutes too soon, but hopefully this will help someone else.
I've never understood the whole "Run as administrator" option since I am the admin of this computer (more Microsoft reasoning 101), but sure enough...it worked. AutoCAD opened like normal when right clicking>Run as administrator.
That's what I was going to ask in reply to your previous post.
Glad you found it.
Ususally when installed and run as an administrator for the first time you can knock it back to a limited account from then on.
