I wonder if there is a way to pull out ID coordinates from AutoCAD into WGS-84 datum?

Hey Haakon;

Wouldn't these coordinates 1st need to be based on WGS-84 datum in your DWG?

Sure.. Asume i wants a autocad coordinate X=285980.682, Y= 6579561.217 (in m) showing N 59.3005643, E 11.2407410 or N 59 18 2.03 (DDMMSSSS), E 11 14 26.66 (DDMMSSSS) when extracting the point from the Autocad drawing. Probably fully possible with the map or any of the GIS/Survey Autodesk products - but although i need to pick coordinates from the drawing from time to time - there is no way it will pay of by buying any of the map/survey or GIS software since it is only extracting coordinates from the drawing that is interesting, and then only a few on some projects from time to time.

If you want to convert between UTM (metres) and GEO (Lat/Long) you will
require 3rd party software (or something like Map perhaps - I don't know the
product). There are several free converters around, and some allow ASCII
file input / output. There are also formulae available to "plug in" to
spreadsheets.

"utm geo conversion" in Google yields 37,100 hits. Add "WGS84" and it is
11,500 hits.
