I HAVE A PIECE OF PLATE THAT SITS AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE IN A 3D MODEL.
I NEED A VIEWPORT TO VIEW IT STRAIGHT ON IN ORDER TO DO A DETAIL.
GOT ANY IDEA HOW I ALIGN THIS VIEWPORT TO PLATE?
USING ACAD2004 ON WINDOWS XP SP3

You can also set the UCS to align with the plate, and depending on how it responds to that on a 3D Solid, perhaps a UCS ZAxis operation from there with Ortho on, and then go to PLAN view in that new UCS. That will let you draw on the surface of the plate itself, which the VPOINT approach will not, except with some Osnap calls and/or point filters. And, you can save that UCS, and recall it later to go immediately back into it without re-doing the process.
NEEDED AGAIN AT 30 DEGREE ANGLE, VPOINT WASNT THE OPTION.
ROTATING THE UCS WAS THE SOLUTION.
SEEMS LIKE VANILLA CAD USE TO DO A BETTER JOB OF MAKING 2D PRINTS FROM 3D MODELS, MAYBE IT HAS TO DO WITH MY VIDEO CAPABILITIES, BUT THE RESULTS ARE UNSAT.
