Text Edit Dialog Box

I think that this is another easy one...In previous versions of AutoCAD there used to be a dialog box that popped up whenever you wanted to edit text...Truthfully, we have some guys ay my job that do not like the "Edit the text where it is" feature and I was wondering if there is a way to go back to the old style...I saw on Lynn Allen's blog that the MTEXT editor can be changed to the old style, but what about the single line editor...I know enough LISP and DCL to custom create a program, but I was hoping that there would be an easier way...Thanks again for the help...

to return to the new 2006 mtext features, type a period (.).

It is more of a state of mind rather than "what"...You know how computers have sleep mode, well, since high school my friends have said that I am in "Eat" mode...Hence the name...Thanks for the help!!!
