Im looking for something that will insert different steel member shapes like W shapes, S shapes angles ect. We use to have a program called Steel Plus that did this but we cant seem to get the program anymore. Is there anything out there that will do this?
These shapes are built into Autodesk Inventor - Frame Generator
OP you could create your own n a container drawing, by referencing the Steel Manual. Then you could link them to tool palettes...
Doesn't 2006 have dynamic blocks? you could do a DynBlk version of what I did, and separate the blocks into all W6s, all w8s etc. good luck!
I couldn't find any steel shapes in my 2007 Release.
We used to have them, but they offered sizes in Depth x Width x Weight.
Our Engineer has Steel sizes that come with only Depth x Weight.
So, we didn't use the AutoCAD shapes.
My 2011 Release has a nice Dynamic Steel shape.
But, while it does have 16 depths, it has only 41 WF sizes.
The actual block does not have the Flange/Web joint filletted.
The STL lisp offers 17 Depths for a total of 299 sizes.
AND the joint is filletted.
I'm still hoping that AutoCAD 2012 offers more.

I took the steel shape DynBlk from my 2011 as a starting point, but I have my insertion point at mid-top. I also did it with constraints, which the OP doesn't have in the 2006 version, and mine not only does it with fewer constraints than the OEM version, but addresses the fillets (which the OEM doesn't). I developed an initial block for just the W8s, and then spun off the other sizes from that...
