Hi Everybody..

I want to ask somethin about intersection...I wonder that I am fault or its Autocad fault or nothin fault...When I pick the intersection between an arc and line after zoom ,I saw the intersection point not exactly on the intersect..after zoom. there is a space between that intersect point and the arc ..I m workin with Autocad 2004 and I tried to pick the intersect manuel by zoom by zoom..But after close and open the draw,the POINT fixing itself and again not on the exactly %100 intersect..I tried to explain my boss `maybe we cant see exactly but this is the intersection point` but after zoom he saw the space and didnt believe me..and I tried to fix 1000 times but again same problem..If someone know somethin about that topic,please help before Kill my boss ..

Good works..

First under tools options display, try changing you acr smoothness.

after you zoom in, regen. This will help. This is a visual thing. I am try to think of a good way to explain this to your boss. other than showing him when you draw an arc, zoom out and then back in it looks like a few lines. The program works with vectors, and the monitor shows pixels.

Good luck

Set viewres to 20000, the max.

The intersection is correct, it's a video display question. Whatever your current viewres, befoire you fix it, zoom in until you think you see the "space" and do a regen. It will look different. You can keep zooming in and regenerating all day to prove to yourself that the intersect is correct. The higher the viewres setting, the less you will notice the seeming inaccuracy.

Hi..For example in the attach,I drew arc and line and smoothness is last one mean2000 and after pick up the intersection point,I saw still the space between intersect point and arc..Isnt there any command to touch ARC OR CIRCLE? I think must be..bec if not,unbelievable..

Hi Navalarch,.

I see what you mean, but if you read Tom Smiths reply, that explains it. All you have to do is regenerate the drawing.

Yes ,I thought the intersect point is right but after zoom.my boss saw the sapce and then I regen and after agai zoom still a little(he hasnt accepted any mistake) space..I tried to say him`this is correct but all about display but didnt believe me and made me crazy..I moved the intersect point little up but after close and open the point came back the old place..and I made crazy again..Bec He is very stubborn and He wants to see everythin is perfect...Do u understand my problem?..Very bad

Never take the screens word for where the point is. Use List or Distance to

check the math. If the intersection point is on the circle the distance from

the center to that point will match the radius exactly. If it does it's

right if it doesn't it's wrong. No matter what it looks like on the screen.

Ok..I used the list command and I choosed the arc and line and then listed..and I saw this window..

" LINE Layer: "0"

Space: Model space

Handle = 95

from point, X= 13.4933 Y= 6.7088 Z= 0.0000

to point, X= 14.4977 Y= 6.7088 Z= 0.0000

Length = 1.0045, Angle in XY Plane = 0

Delta X = 1.0045, Delta Y = 0.0000, Delta Z = 0.0000

ARC Layer: "0"

Space: Model space

Handle = 90

center point, X= 9.8427 Y= 14.4041 Z= 0.0000

radius 8.5173

start angle 264

end angle 5

length 14.9524

How can understand the intersect from this list?..

Thank You..

Zoom in and regen again. Zoom in and regen again. The intersect is correct. The boss is wrong. Do not cheat on the point's location because of how the screen looks.

You should be able to calculate the intersection point mathematically from the information on the circle and line. If you do the trigonometry and compare it with Acad's coordinates of the intersection point, you'll find that it's accurate to 8 decimal places.

Oh yes..after zoom and regen after zoom and regen ... I saw the intersect point normally right...I will try to explain this to my boss..

Thank you very much...Good works..
