Autocad Trial Version

I installed the Autocad Trial Version that came with my books for the semester but mistakenly didn't "Authorize Autocad" and therefore only had 30 days instead of 180 days for the trial. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but it didn't show me that page again. How can I get the 180 days instead of the 30 days. My 30 days run out in a few days and my class continues for another month!!

Thanks.
Ted

Get the student version if you are ONLY using it for class work. Search the
discussion groups for links to free student versions, and never use it for
anything that will go into real production work. The student version has a
banner that infects everything it touches, but the student version is
probably what most of your fellow students are using.

Emailing autodesk will get you a different trial CD.
Do your class' computers not have AutoCAD, or do you just not do the work in a campus computer lab?

That is an old old release but check under the Help pull down menu to see if there is a Register Software option.

Students can get modern Autodesk software for free from http://engineersrule.org

This isn't even the student version, it came with the books for the class. It is a fully functional version, but if you don't read one line in the book you get a 30 day trial instead of the 180 day trial.

I have two books, each came with a trial CD. The other CD is corrupt, too many scratches on it. I need a way to unlock this trial version from 30 days to 180 days.

I'll check that out, but the other post about the Student Version having a banner that infects all is not appealing since this is my Dad's computer and not the school's computer that it is installed on.

That shouldn't be a problem since all schools will except it with the
banner.

That's only an issue if you Dad has AutoCAD installed. And if he does. Use
that.

Do you have contact with someone at the school who could help? Try calling
the Autodesk registration phone #. Explain the problem. They may be able to
help.
