XP mode printing

Good morning,

I bought a new computer with windows 7 & installed Virtual XP and am running Autocad 2000 on it. I installed my HP 7500A printer on Windows 7 and it will print documents etc. I next went to install my printer in XP mode and it never would connect from the printer to the network (wireless). Here are the steps I followed when installing my printer in XP mode:

 1. When prompted, How do you want to connect printer to computer, I chose wireless, connect printer to the same network.

 2. Next prompt, How do you want to connect from the printer to the network, I chose wireless.

 3. When searching for the printer it could not locate it.

 4. It asked for confirmation of IP address & I did that, yet it still was unable to find the printer.

 5. I was asked to verify that the printer was joined the same network as this computer. It then directed me back to the same prompts mentioned above but it sill was unable to find the printer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Pat

If it worked before you did all of that, may I ask why it's needed now?

Could the problem have been you did not install R2000's required PLOTUPDATE patch to print to the device before the XP mode mods?
